MiCA Register Hits 321 with New Approvals
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has added 12 more firms to its MiCA register, bringing the total number of authorized crypto-asset service providers across Europe to 321. This update is part of ESMA's fourth register revision since the July 1 transitional deadline.
The new approvals include three German cooperative banks: Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Oberbayern Südost, VR Bank Schleswig-Holstein Mitte, and VR-Bank Landau-Mengkofen. Additionally, two Spanish companies, Basque Pay and Fintech Payments, and four French firms, Finary, Woorton, Blockchain Process Security, and Shares Financial Assets, have been added to the register.
The mixture of regional banks and specialized financial firms shows that MiCA adoption is developing through several business models at once. This diversity is important because the register does not represent a single European licensing wave; it reflects national approvals being assembled into a common supervisory picture.
