MiCA Takes Center Stage at European Blockchain Convention
The European Blockchain Convention (EBC) is set to return to Barcelona from October 15-17, 2025, marking the first major industry gathering since the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) came into full effect. The event will bring together thousands of policymakers, developers, and institutional investors to discuss the future of digital assets under the new regulatory framework.
The convention carries particular weight as it is the first large-scale crypto event in Europe following the full implementation of MiCA, which began applying to crypto-asset service providers in December 2024. The regulation establishes a unified licensing regime across the 27-member bloc, replacing fragmented national rules.
EBC co-founder Victoria Gago said that the convention aims to bridge the gap between regulators and the industry. 'We are entering a new era where regulatory compliance is not a burden but a competitive advantage,' she said.
