Michigan Facility Abandons Bitcoin Mining, Shifts Focus to AI Computing
Hyperscale Data's Michigan facility has abandoned Bitcoin mining operations and shifted its focus to AI computing services. The company completed this transition on September 1, 2026, after signing a master services agreement with a California-based neocloud provider.
The deal is projected to generate over $1.2 billion in revenue across its initial 10-year term, with expansion options that could push the total past $3 billion. The Michigan facility has existing infrastructure for up to 340 megawatts of capacity, but the current AI deal only taps about 20% of this potential.
Hyperscale Data's shares have been in freefall, hitting all-time lows despite the significant revenue potential of the new deal. The company has undergone a series of reverse stock splits, which may have eroded confidence in management's ability to create organic value.
