Michigan Facility Shifts from Crypto Mining to AI Infrastructure
Hyperscale Data, a NYSE American-listed company, has shut down its Bitcoin mining operation at its Michigan facility. On September 1, Hyperscale turned off its Bitcoin miners, and on September 2, it announced plans to convert the site into an AI co-location cash contract worth over $1.2 billion.
The move comes as a significant blow to global crypto mining capacity, which may put pressure on Bitcoin's hash rate and mining economics. According to a statement by Hyperscale, the company is shifting its capital from crypto mining towards AI infrastructure adoption.
