MicroStrategy Buys $370M in Bitcoin, Boosting Holdings to 845,050 Coins
MicroStrategy, once known as MicroStrategy, has become the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. In late August, it bought $370 million worth of BTC after a two-month buying pause.
The purchase boosted Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 845,050 coins, which are now worth $68.5 billion at current prices. This exceeds both its market cap and enterprise value, indicating that Bitcoin is undervalued relative to its holdings.
Strategy trades at a discount due to near-term headwinds for BTC, including elevated Treasury yields and rising interest rates. However, several catalysts could drive the price of BTC higher over the next few years, including the 2028 halving event and potential devaluation of the US dollar.
