MicroStrategy Raises €305M from Share Sale, No New Bitcoin Bought
MicroStrategy has completed a significant share sale, raising approximately €305 million. Unlike previous transactions where funds were used to buy Bitcoin for its corporate treasury, this time the company plans to allocate these funds towards dividends, share buybacks, and strengthening its cash reserves.
The sale of shares took place between August 10 and 16, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). MicroStrategy raised $333.7 million through a common stock sale program, which is approximately €305 million. The company structured this transaction to provide greater operating liquidity and maintain a solid cash position in the face of market volatility.
Despite not making any additional Bitcoin purchases during this period, MicroStrategy's management has reiterated that its long-term strategy regarding digital assets remains unchanged.
