MicroStrategy Repurchases $139M STRC, Boosts BTC Holdings
MicroStrategy, a well-known cryptocurrency investor and proponent of Bitcoin, has recently made two significant moves. Firstly, the company repurchased $139M worth of shares in its own stock (STRC). This strategic buy comes after a period of market volatility, which may have presented an attractive opportunity for investors to acquire shares at a discounted price.
Additionally, MicroStrategy's balance sheet reveals that it holds 845,050 BTC as of September 13th, valued at approximately $66.2B based on the current Bitcoin price of $78,932.35. This substantial holding represents a significant portion of its overall assets, which total $6.4B USD.
Analysts suggest that this move may be part of a larger strategy to further diversify its portfolio and increase its exposure to cryptocurrency markets. The current market conditions, with the Bitcoin price trading within a bullish structure defined by the EMA50 at $77,858.31 and EMA200 at $74,355.24, may also have contributed to this decision.
Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy's founder and CEO, has been a long-time advocate for institutional adoption of cryptocurrency and has consistently promoted Bitcoin as a store of value and hedge against inflation.
