MicroStrategy Resumes Bitcoin Buying After 10-Week Pause
MicroStrategy (NasdaqGS:MSTR) has resumed its Bitcoin purchasing strategy after a 10-week pause, adding over 4,600 BTC to its treasury. The latest acquisition was partially funded by newly raised equity capital, following a period focused on balance sheet management.
The company's decision reflects its renewed commitment to its 'Bitcoin first' approach and highlights ongoing use of equity issuance. MicroStrategy positions itself as a Bitcoin treasury company rather than a traditional software peer, with its corporate strategy centered on acquiring and holding Bitcoin as a core business activity across the US and international markets.
The $370m purchase of 4,603 BTC after a 10-week pause shows that MicroStrategy is still prioritizing Bitcoin accumulation over keeping equity issuance low. Around 61% of the $602.8m raised from 4.53m new shares went into Bitcoin, reinforcing the view that fresh capital is quickly redirected into the treasury rather than left as cash.
