MicroStrategy Resumes Bitcoin Purchases with $370 Million Investment
MicroStrategy (MSTR) has resumed its Bitcoin acquisition strategy after a two-month hiatus. The company announced it purchased $370 million worth of Bitcoin at an average price of approximately $80,300 per coin on August 31, 2026.
The purchase was financed using proceeds from a recent stock offering, with remaining funds allocated for dividends, stock buybacks, and increasing cash reserves by $30 million. MicroStrategy's current Price-to-Sales (P/S) ratio is significantly above its historical median of approximately 6.0x due to the company's unprofitability.
Following this announcement, MicroStrategy's stock rose by 4.4% to close at $132.94 on August 31, 2026. The recent Bitcoin acquisition marks a pivotal moment for the company, which has been under pressure from shareholders to explore new funding avenues.
