MicroStrategy Sells Out on Its Own Bitcoin Identity

MicroStrategy has launched a Bitcoin-themed sneaker inspired by the Nike Air Jordan 1 in its online store, Strategy Store. The shoe is priced at $250 and features custom branding that ties to the company's Bitcoin identity.

The Strategy Store only accepts cards and digital wallets like Apple Pay for checkout, with no option to pay using Bitcoin itself. This has raised questions about the company's commitment to promoting the use of Bitcoin as a payment method.

As a company with over 840,000 BTC on its balance sheet, MicroStrategy's decision not to offer Bitcoin as a payment option at checkout is seen as an anomaly by some in the crypto community. The store does carry other Bitcoin-themed merchandise, including shoelaces and Nike Dunks.
