Bitcoin hovered near $65,000 on Friday as escalating tensions in the Middle East weighed on sentiment in the cryptocurrency market. Ethereum traded lower alongside Bitcoin.

The global crypto market capitalisation went down 0.7% to $2.22 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap. Bitcoin was trading at $65,345, while Ethereum was at $1,877.

Nischal Shetty, founder of WazirX, said that Bitcoin remained under pressure as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East dampened investor sentiment, prompting a shift toward safer assets. Ethereum also weakened, with traders closely monitoring institutional positioning and broader market uncertainty.
