Midterm Elections Could Send XRP Soaring
Cryptocurrency XRP may have fallen by over 60% from its summer 2025 highs, but it's not out of the running just yet. The upcoming 2026 midterm elections could be a catalyst for XRP to soar, especially if pro-crypto candidates win their races.
According to recent data, close to $200 million has been poured into the midterm elections by the crypto industry, with much of that money flowing to candidates who are favorably aligned with new legislation and rulemaking for the crypto industry. Two key candidates to watch are Barry Moore (R-Alabama) and Andy Barr (R-Kentucky), who have received a combined $16.5 million from the crypto industry.
With these pro-crypto candidates likely to win, Ripple - the company behind XRP - stands to benefit greatly from new legislation, such as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, and rulemaking around stablecoins.
