Million-Contact Campaign Intensifies Pressure for CLARITY Act Passage

The CLARITY Act has reached a milestone of one million contacts from supporters to lawmakers in the Senate, just seven days before its recess. Stand With Crypto, a nonprofit advocacy organization for digital assets, announced that this number of contacts had been made on July 31. The organization is urging the Senate to pass the bill before they leave for the August 7 recess.

Supporters of the CLARITY Act present it as a framework dividing regulatory authority between federal agencies. However, critics argue that its current language could restrict state investigations and leave important ethics concerns unresolved. Blackrock, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, and Franklin Templeton have backed the bill as a way to balance digital asset innovation with transparency, resilience, and investor protection.

Galaxy Research has reduced its estimated probability of the CLARITY Act being enacted in 2026 from 50% to 30%, citing unresolved disputes, Senate vote requirements, and a tightening legislative calendar.
