Millionaires May Soon Find Buying One Whole Bitcoin Impossible
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has made a prediction about the future accessibility of Bitcoin to wealthy investors. He believes that due to the limited supply and a significant number of lost or inaccessible coins, it will soon be hard for millionaires to buy one whole Bitcoin.
Citing data from August 2026, which shows that over 20 million Bitcoins have been mined, leaving only 4.4% more supply, CZ estimates that 10-20% of existing Bitcoins are lost or unrecoverable.
This would mean that even US millionaires, with a total number exceeding the mined Bitcoin supply, would only get around 0.85 BTC if divided equally among them. Worldwide millionaires would receive roughly 0.35 BTC per person.
CZ agrees with crypto analyst Quinten Francois's thesis on the limited available supply and notes that many long-term holders don't move or spend their coins, making them unavailable for purchase.
