Miners Cash In on Record-Setting Revenue Amidst Ongoing Challenges
Bitcoin miners had a banner month in August, raking in $1 billion in revenue. The uptick was fueled by Bitcoin's price surge of 24.95% during the same period. This rise in value allowed mining operators to breathe a sigh of relief as they captured a substantial amount from subsidies and fees.
The strong earnings were reflected in the hashprice, which climbed to $38.86 per PH/s. Miner outflows remained relatively limited, with short-lived spikes above 15,000 BTC on August 1 and August 8. Despite these minor bursts, miners held their coins.
However, the current market conditions still pose significant challenges for Bitcoin miners. The price of Bitcoin would need to reach approximately $198,950 for hashprice to hit $100 per PH/s. This would require a substantial moonshot in the cryptocurrency's value.
