Mining Stocks Struggle to Keep Pace with Bitcoin's Surge
Bitcoin's price surge has outpaced many mining stocks, sparking concern among investors. Since August 17, BTC has gained around 22%, but mining companies have struggled to keep pace.
Canaan is a notable exception, having outperformed Bitcoin with its stock price increase.
Core Scientific and Terawulf, however, underperformed by 27% and 24%, respectively, compared to BTC's rise. The median yield for the ten mining companies in question stands at just 1.8%.
Several miners have begun transitioning their focus towards artificial intelligence data centers, which could provide a buffer against crypto market fluctuations. This diversification strategy may lead to different results than those seen with Bitcoin itself.
