Mirae Asset Injects $35M into Digital X After Korbit Acquisition

Share

Mirae Asset Group is injecting 50 billion won ($35 million) into Digital X, the operator of South Korean crypto exchange Korbit. The move comes less than a month after Mirae completed its takeover of the company.

The capital injection will provide Digital X with additional funds to improve its financial structure and meet immediate management needs. The 50 billion won will be used to issue new shares, which will go entirely to Mirae Asset Consulting, the affiliate that already controls 97.15% of Digital X.

Korbit recorded a 15.4 billion won operating loss in 2025 despite higher annual revenue growth. The company's small market share of around 0.5% was cited by regulators as one reason why Mirae's acquisition posed little threat to competition.
