Mirae Asset Targets $109 Billion Digital X Expansion
Mirae Asset Financial Group has unveiled plans to build its Digital X exchange into a massive digital-asset business, with a target size of 150 trillion won ($109 billion). The company's chairman and founder, Park Hyeon-joo, outlined the strategy to employees on August 27, aiming for profitability by 2027.
Digital X will focus on four key areas: cryptocurrency, stablecoins, real-world assets, and security token offerings. Mirae also plans to explore tokenization of physical assets, including precious metals and electricity, connecting them to a broader onchain-finance ecosystem.
The company is leveraging its existing financial-services network to support the digital platform, which will be linked with traditional finance. Mirae manages about $1 trillion in assets and views Digital X as an intelligent investment platform combining research, traditional assets, and blockchain-based products.
