Mirae Asset Targets $109B Digital Asset Business with Digital X

Share

Mirae Asset Financial Group has set its sights on establishing a massive digital asset business through its subsidiary Digital X. The South Korean conglomerate aims to reach a staggering $109 billion in revenue, with its primary vehicle being the renamed crypto exchange formerly known as Korbit.

The company's founder and chairman, Park Hyeon-joo, outlined the ambitious target at an employee event in Seoul on August 26. Mirae Asset Consulting acquired a 97% stake in Korbit in July 2026 and rebranded its operating company as Digital X following the deal.

Digital X is structured around four main areas: crypto, stablecoins, real-world assets, and security token offerings. The company plans to tokenize physical commodities such as gold, silver, and electricity, with a longer-term goal of developing an on-chain finance ecosystem that combines traditional and digital finance.
