Mixin has highlighted self-custody risks after the COLDCARD entropy incident.

The issue occurred when certain firmware versions of COLDCARD did not use the intended hardware random number generation path, resulting in an effective search space below the original security target.

This weakness was present as early as 2021 and remained undiscovered for several years despite being publicly available for review.
