Mk3 Seed Issue Linked to $38M Bitcoin Sweep
A warning has been issued to Coldcard Mk3 users after a coordinated sweep of 594.48 BTC, worth approximately $38.2 million at the time, was observed.
The transfer occurred within a three-block window and involved single-signature Bitcoin addresses, but Coinkite has not yet established a direct link between the Mk3 seed issue and the sweep.
Coldcard's firmware version 4.0.1 to 5.0.3 may be affected, according to Coinkite's advisory, which recommends users generate a new seed on an unaffected device or use a strong BIP-39 passphrase as a temporary measure.
