MOEX to Launch Regulated Crypto Derivatives Amid New Russian Law
Moscow Exchange (MOEX), Russia's largest stock exchange, is expanding its crypto derivatives offerings by introducing perpetual futures contracts for Bitcoin and Ethereum in September 2026. This move coincides with a new digital asset law taking effect, which will provide a regulated environment for crypto trading in Russia.
The perpetual futures contracts will allow traders to hold positions indefinitely with automatic daily rollovers and will be available only to qualified investors. MOEX aims to expand its crypto futures to cover ten tokens, including Solana, XRP, Tron, and BNB, signaling growing institutional support for regulated crypto trading in Russia.
This move provides a regulated, centrally cleared environment for crypto derivatives, reducing counterparty risk and broadening options for Russian investors. The introduction of these contracts is seen as a significant step towards increasing the adoption of cryptocurrencies in Russia.
