Monad Blockchain Raises $269M in Public Token Sale
Monad, a Layer 1 blockchain, has made headlines after raising $269 million from nearly 86,000 investors across 80 countries through Coinbase's public token sale platform. The sale exceeded its goal of $187.5 million and distributed 7.5 billion MON tokens, representing 7.5% of the total supply.
The funds aim to democratize access beyond traditional venture capital, with the mainnet launching shortly after the sale. Approximately 10.8% of tokens are now in circulation, while the rest are locked or allocated for ecosystem growth.
By mid-2026, MON traded slightly below the sale price, and a repurchase offer for locked tokens was mostly declined by early investors.
