Monero Posts Strongest Month in Over Five Years as AlphaPepe Buyers Chase Early Upside
Monero (XMR) has just delivered its strongest month in over five years, climbing nearly 50% in August and closing around $520. This performance puts Monero back into the large-cap conversation as traders rotated toward altcoins with strong momentum and renewed utility catalysts.
The move was helped by stronger derivatives activity and fresh utility, including THORChain's Version 3.20 upgrade that added native Monero swaps with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins. Open interest also surged above $300 million during the rally, showing that traders were willing to increase exposure as momentum accelerated.
AlphaPepe (ALPE), a presale project, is attracting a different type of buyer. ALPE currently costs $0.02902 in Stage 20, which is nearing a sellout after several previous stages moved quickly. The planned listing price starts from $0.08, creating a large gap between the current presale tier and the targeted public entry level.
AlphaSwap, an AI-powered DEX launching in Q1 2027, is being built with AI-assisted market intelligence, contract risk checks, and real-time exploit alerts beside the swap flow. If AlphaSwap captures even a small fraction of the activity generated by major exchanges, ALPE could build a stronger utility narrative around the platform itself.
