Moneyflip CEO Charged with Murder-for-Hire Over $40,000 Plot

Marcos Arturo Kleiman Tronllan, the CEO of Moneyflip, has been charged with a federal murder-for-hire crime after allegedly paying undercover agents $40,000 to kidnap and kill a Mexican businessman over an unpaid debt.

Kleiman was arrested in Miami on July 30 by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents, who began investigating him as part of a probe into currency exchange businesses in San Diego and Imperial counties. Authorities suspected Kleiman of using cross-border transactions to avoid Bank Secrecy Act reporting requirements and launder proceeds from drug sales.

During the investigation, undercover HSI agents approached Kleiman and asked him to convert $750,000 into cryptocurrency. Kleiman allegedly created an email account and shared its password with the agents, allowing them to communicate without directly sending messages. He then converted the funds into cryptocurrency and arranged for the assets to be transferred to an undercover agent's wallet, charging a 10% fee.

Kleiman allegedly discussed the possibility of recovering a debt from the Mexican businessman and killing him with the agents. He agreed to pay $40,000 for the kidnapping and murder, including two $5,000 advance deposits. On July 28, the undercover agents showed Kleiman photographs and a video that falsely depicted the businessman as having been captured, tortured, and killed.
