MoneyGram Brings Global Cash Network to Solana Ecosystem
MoneyGram has expanded its reach to Solana's ecosystem by launching its Ramps service, providing developers with a seamless way to connect crypto applications with local currencies. This integration brings MoneyGram's global cash network directly into Solana, giving users access to over 60 million customers and nearly 500,000 retail locations across 170+ countries.
The launch of Ramps on Solana marks a significant step in the payments company's increased commitment to the blockchain platform. In June, MoneyGram signed an infrastructure partnership with Solana and began acting as an active validator. This unique position allows MoneyGram to provide both protocol-level infrastructure and payment connectivity between crypto and fiat.
With Ramps, developers can now implement fiat on- and off-ramps by integrating via a single API, making it easier for users to deposit and withdraw cash in over 25 countries. The service is particularly useful for wallets, exchanges, and other crypto applications looking to simplify their payment processes. MoneyGram's broader business network covers over 200 countries and territories, providing a vast reach for Solana's ecosystem.
