Moonbeam Halts Transactions, Leaves Late GLMR Holders in the Lurch
Moonbeam has halted all user transactions, leaving late GLMR holders dependent on an email helpdesk for fund recovery. The cutoff occurred at 23:59 UTC (July 31), as Moonbeam's Polkadot network entered operational wind-down ahead of a relaunch on Base.
Before the deadline, Moonbeam warned users to withdraw funds from liquidity pools, lending markets, staking, crowdloans, governance locks, and other protocols where possible before bridging. The project's July 3 announcement stated that funds left deployed in on-chain protocols may become inaccessible after the network wound down.
The standard bridge for self-custodied free balances ended with the cutoff, while exchange-held and snapshot-covered balances followed separate routes from the direct migration contract. Late holders face individual review, with no universal post-cutoff claim portal or recovery guarantee.
