MoonPay Launches AI-Powered Payment Vault for ChatGPT and Claude

MoonPay has launched MoonPay PayBox, an AI payment vault that enables users to connect OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude for direct payments from conversations.

The service allows users to link their PayBox to ChatGPT or Claude through a custom connector, enabling the AI assistants to prepare transactions such as booking flights, making restaurant reservations, and shopping online.

User approval is required for each payment via a passkey, although an autonomous mode can be enabled that allows transactions within user-defined limits.

MoonPay Labs Chief Engineer Neeraj Prasad explained that PayBox combines crypto wallets and payment cards in a non-custodial vault that connects directly to ChatGPT or Claude.
