MoonPay Unveils AI-Friendly Crypto Infrastructure Layer
MoonPay has launched MoonPay Agents, an infrastructure layer that allows AI agents to create wallets, fund them, and transact in digital assets without ongoing human intervention. This non-custodial system is built on MoonPay's developer-focused command-line interface, MoonPay CLI, and extends the firm's existing fiat-to-crypto payment rails to autonomous software systems.
Under this model, a user completes a one-time identity verification process and funds a wallet through MoonPay's checkout. After that initial setup, an AI agent can trade, swap, and transfer digital assets programmatically on the user's behalf.
MoonPay Agents support recurring purchases, cross-chain swaps, and compatibility with x402, a machine-to-machine payments standard increasingly used in agent-driven applications. The system also allows agents to off-ramp holdings back into fiat currency.
