MoonPay Unveils PayBox for Secure AI-Driven Payments

MoonPay has launched PayBox, a payment system that lets users connect their AI assistants to a secure vault. The product allows users to control transactions initiated by AI agents, ensuring that funds remain safe and under user control.

Users can interact with the AI assistant in natural language, asking it to carry out actions such as converting money into stablecoins or making bookings. However, before any transaction occurs, the user must approve it using a passkey, maintaining control over their funds.

The system supports Solana and various EVM-compatible chains, including Ethereum, Hyperliquid, Tempo, Base, Robinhood Chain, Arbitrum, and Polygon. Initial integrations cover restaurant reservations, travel bookings, and shopping with major online retailers.

MoonPay's PayBox features a control model that allows users to choose between 'Always Ask' or 'Autonomous' approval settings. The system also ensures security through multi-party computation and secure enclaves, protecting wallet keys from unauthorized access.
