Morgan Stanley Enters ETF Market with Crypto-Friendly Funds
Morgan Stanley's entry into the ETF market has sent shockwaves through the cryptocurrency space. The firm launched two new funds, MSSE and MSOL, which track the CoinDesk Ether Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate and the CoinDesk Solana Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate respectively.
These funds are unique in that they pass staking rewards directly to investors rather than keeping them. This has been a major draw for investors looking to get involved in cryptocurrency without having to manage their own assets.
'Digital assets are becoming an increasingly important component of diversified investment portfolios,' said Amy Oldenburg, head of digital asset strategy at Morgan Stanley.
The firm's decision to launch these funds is seen as a vote of confidence in the cryptocurrency space. With eight existing SOL ETFs on the market and combined net assets of $889.3 million, according to SoSoValue, Morgan Stanley's entry into the market is a significant development.
