Morgan Stanley Ethereum, Solana Trusts Get NYSE Arca Certification
Morgan Stanley has made significant strides in the world of cryptocurrency investments by getting two trusts approved for listing on the NYSE Arca. The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust and the Morgan Stanley Solana Trust have received certification from the exchange, paving the way for them to trade publicly.
The SEC had previously made both Form S-1 registration statements effective on July 23 at 4:00 p.m., just one day before the exchange certifications. The trusts' prospectuses outline their investment objectives and fees, which include a delegated sponsor fee of 0.14% of net asset value accrued daily.
The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) will track ether using the CoinDesk Ether Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate, while the Solana Trust (MSOL) uses the corresponding CoinDesk Solana Benchmark 4PM NY Settlement Rate for SOL. Neither trust plans to use leverage or derivatives to meet its investment objective.
The prospectuses also mention that staking assets remains at the sponsor's discretion and may be used in the future, but no guarantees are made about staking-related returns. If staking is employed, 5% of staking rewards will go to staking services providers and custodians, with the remainder retained by the trust.
