Morgan Stanley Expands Crypto Push with Ethereum and Solana ETPs
Morgan Stanley has expanded its crypto push by launching two new exchange-traded products (ETPs) that track the price of Ethereum and Solana. The Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (NYSE Arca: MSSE) and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (NYSE Arca: MSOL) will generate staking rewards for investors, who will receive any profits from holding a portion of their holdings.
The move follows several other crypto initiatives announced by the company this year. In April, Morgan Stanley introduced its spot Bitcoin Trust, which had attracted over $381 million in assets under management through July 16. The firm has also explored tokenized money market funds and digital asset tax-management strategies through its subsidiary Parametric.
The launch of MSSE and MSOL reflects the company's growing interest in cryptocurrencies beyond Bitcoin. Global Head of ETFs for Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Ally Wallace, said 'the addition of MSSE and MSOL reflects the natural evolution of our product suite, which seeks to provide simplified access to digital assets through the ETP wrapper.'
Morgan Stanley has been expanding its crypto offerings, and its ETF and ETP platform now manages over $14 billion across 22 products. The company's push into cryptocurrencies is part of a broader effort to diversify its investment portfolio.
