Morgan Stanley Unveils Low-Fee Solana, Ethereum Spot ETFs
Morgan Stanley has expanded its portfolio of spot crypto ETFs by launching two new funds that offer investors compliant exposure to Solana ($SOL) and Ethereum ($ETH) without directly owning the underlying assets. The Morgan Stanley Solana Trust (MSOL) and the Morgan Stanley Ethereum Trust (MSSE) have been listed on NYSE Arca, allowing investors to gain seamless access to these well-known crypto assets via conventional brokerage accounts.
The new funds come with a fee of just 0.14%, making them the lowest-cost products in the market. This move underscores Morgan Stanley's growing presence in the swiftly evolving crypto ETF landscape, which has seen increased institutional interest since the approval of spot Bitcoin ($BTC) ETFs in 2024.
The launch also highlights the widening expansion of crypto investment methods among key asset management entities. Amy Oldenburg, Head of Digital Asset Strategy at Morgan Stanley, emphasized the importance of digital assets in diversifying investment portfolios and noted that client interest is continuously rising in the crypto market.
With its low-fee structure, Morgan Stanley's latest ETFs are expected to advance institutional crypto adoption, capitalizing on the success of its earlier spot Bitcoin fund. The Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT), which went live earlier this year, has accumulated over $381M in AUM since its launch.
The platform leverages a vast distribution ecosystem via its wealth management system, including almost 16K financial advisors managing over $9T in user assets.
