Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin ETF Hits $600M Milestone
Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin ETF (MSBT) has reached a significant milestone in its first five months of operation, surpassing $600 million in net assets. This achievement marks a major breakthrough for the fund, which was launched on April 8th and has seen nearly no redemption pressure since its debut.
The MSBT fund's rapid growth is significant because it indicates that bank-affiliated distribution is becoming an increasingly important channel for crypto demand. The fund's net inflows have totaled $538.37 million, with only one day of outflows on May 29th when $5.26 million left the product.
This pattern suggests that investors are using MSBT as a longer-term allocation rather than a short-term trading vehicle. In fact, across the past 21 trading days, MSBT saw buying on 12 days and no net selling days, bringing total inflows over that stretch to about $71.95 million.
The fund's success is also notable because it entered an already crowded spot bitcoin ETF market. However, its growth shows that a recognizable bank-linked brand can still attract fresh capital even after the initial ETF launch cycle has matured.
