Morph Expands Stablecoin Offerings with Non-Custodial Payments Platform
Morph, an Ethereum Layer-2 network incubated within Bitget's ecosystem, has expanded its stablecoin offerings with Morph Payments. This non-custodial platform enables businesses and freelancers to accept, send, and manage stablecoin payments.
The funds settle directly into the user's wallet, bypassing Morph's custody, and supports USDC and USDT initially. The launch also includes invoicing and payment links, a transaction dashboard, and 24/7 on-chain settlement.
This move follows Morph's decision to split its architecture in two: Tachyon, a standalone chain for high-throughput trading, and the original Ethereum L2, handling payments and stablecoins. Morph Payments builds upon this payments side and comes roughly six weeks after Anchorage's USDGO stablecoin went live natively on the network.
Renna Ba, Head of Ecosystem at Morph, stated that businesses will increasingly operate across multiple stablecoins like they do with currencies, aiming to make complexity invisible. The launch points towards a future where payment routing, asset movement for yield strategies, and trading all come under platforms built on Morph's network.
Morph plans to introduce additional payments capabilities, including scheduled payouts and recurring payroll, over the coming months as part of its broader push to serve a wider range of payment use cases.
