Morph Unveils Non-Custodial Stablecoin Payments Platform
Morph, an Ethereum Layer-2 network incubated within the Bitget ecosystem, has launched Morph Payments, a non-custodial platform for businesses and freelancers to accept and send stablecoin payments. The new tool allows users to manage their funds directly in their own wallet, with support for USDC and USDT, invoicing and payment links, and a transaction dashboard. This launch follows Morph's decision to split its architecture into two chains: Tachyon for high-throughput trading and the original Ethereum L2 for payments and stablecoins.
Morph Payments is part of Morph's broader ecosystem, which aims to make it easy for businesses to operate across multiple stablecoins as they already do with currencies. According to Renna Ba, Morph's Head of Ecosystem, this will make complexity invisible. The platform positions itself as an on-ramp for Morph's network, encouraging users to route payments into trading platforms and yield strategies.
The launch highlights the growing importance of stablecoin transactions, which reached $10.2 trillion in adjusted volume over the trailing 12 months, according to Visa's Onchain Analytics dashboard. This figure is lower than the raw annual volume cited by Morph's own State of Stablecoins 2026 report in April, underscoring that much of this activity is inflated.
Morph plans further payments capabilities in the coming months but has not specified a timeline.
