Morpho Surpasses $14 Billion in Total Deposits Amid Growing DeFi Activity
Morpho, a decentralized lending protocol, has reached $14B in total deposits for the first time. This milestone was initially reached on August 22, 2026, and grew to approximately $14.15 billion by early September of the same year.
According to Paul Frambot, founder of Morpho, $14B represents about 1.4% of the path to the first $1 trillion. This growth is driven by three key factors: Morpho Midnight, a non-custodial fixed-rate lending protocol; Base, Coinbase's Layer 2 network; and Robinhood Earn.
Morpho Midnight allows users to set personalized loan terms through competitive offers, setting it apart from traditional DeFi lending where rates float with supply and demand. The integration with Base has contributed significantly to the growth of deposits, with over $5 billion deposited on this single chain.
