Moscow Exchange Prepares Perpetual Futures Launch on Bitcoin and Ethereum
The Moscow Exchange is planning to launch perpetual futures on Bitcoin and Ethereum indexes in September, according to Maria Patrikeeva, Managing Director of the exchange's derivatives market.
The first two perpetual crypto contracts will be based on the prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum, with the plan to expand to ten coins in the future.
Perpetual futures are a type of derivative instrument that allows traders to profit from both rising and falling markets without having to hold the underlying asset. However, they also come with increased risks due to high volatility and margin requirements.
The Moscow Exchange is expanding its derivatives market to include perpetual futures on foreign stocks, including companies like Amazon, AMD, Tesla, and Netflix, in addition to cryptocurrencies.
