Most Americans Believe Trump Inappropriately Profited from Cryptocurrency

Share

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll has found that most Americans believe President Donald Trump and his family inappropriately profited from cryptocurrency, with 63% of respondents saying it was not right for them to have made money this way.

The poll also revealed that half of Trump's own Republicans think the president allows considerations for his business interests to influence his decisions. This is a striking finding, given Trump's pledge to clean up corruption in Washington.

Trump has earned over $1.4 billion from his family's cryptocurrency ventures, including World Liberty Financial and the Trump meme coin. He has also called on Congress to pass a bill that would bring clearer definitions to the growing cryptocurrency sector.

Much of the controversy surrounding Trump's crypto dealings stems from his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, who are co-founders of World Liberty crypto group and have promoted their own stablecoin, WorldClaw, on social media.
