Most Americans Say Trump's Crypto Profits Are Improper
A new poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos has found that six in ten Americans believe it is improper for President Donald Trump and his family to profit from cryptocurrency ventures.
The survey, which polled 1,166 adults nationwide over four days starting on the 14th, found that 63% of respondents said it was improper for Trump's business interests to factor into his policy decisions.
Even among Republican respondents, who make up Trump's political base, half said his business interests influence his policy decisions. This is a painful one for Trump, who has publicly vowed to root out corruption in the United States.
Last year, Trump earned more than $1.4 billion from his family's cryptocurrency ventures, including World Liberty Financial and a Trump meme coin. Presidential ethics experts have said this conduct is unprecedented and worse than during Trump's first term.
