Most Americans Say Trump's Crypto Profits Are Inappropriate

Share

A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that most Americans believe President Donald Trump and his family should not earn money from cryptocurrency while in office. The survey, conducted between August 14-17, showed that 63% of respondents considered the Trump family's crypto profits inappropriate, while 32% viewed them as acceptable.

The findings indicate a significant partisan divide, with 69% of Republicans considering the profits appropriate and 92% of Democrats describing them as inappropriate. The poll included 1,166 U.S. adults and had a margin of error of about three percentage points.

Reuters calculated that Trump's cryptocurrency ventures pulled in over $1.4 billion in income during 2025, according to his financial disclosure filing. This figure represents reported income rather than the current value of Trump's personal cryptocurrency holdings.
