Most Americans Skeptical of Trump's Crypto Profits: Poll
A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll found that most Americans are skeptical of President Donald Trump's cryptocurrency investments. According to the survey, 63% of respondents believe it was wrong for the Trumps to earn income from crypto, while only 32% think it is acceptable. This sentiment is not limited to Democrats, as even Republicans have expressed concern, with 27% opposing the profits.
The poll also found that 69% of Americans believe Trump's private ventures are influencing his decisions as president, with two in three independents and nine in ten Democrats sharing this view. The survey suggests that Trump's family has made over $1.4 billion from crypto-related investments, including World Liberty Financial and the Trump meme coin.
Trump's spokeswoman, Anna Kelly, defended the investments, stating there are 'no conflicts of interest' and that Trump only acts in the best interests of the American public. However, this assertion is at odds with many Americans, who believe Trump's personal business stakes are steering his decisions in the White House.
The poll also found that 80% of adults expect the US war in Iran to drag on for a long time, which could have significant implications for crypto markets. As oil prices and inflation continue to rise, investors may become increasingly risk-averse, further weighing on already fragile sentiment.
