MSTR Stock Jumps Amid Extended Bitcoin Buying Pause
Strategy's MSTR stock surged by 2.54% to around $95.40 on Monday despite extending its Bitcoin buying pause to an eighth consecutive week.
The company has not made any new Bitcoin purchases or sales between August 10 and August 16, keeping its holdings at 840,447 BTC acquired for $63.36 billion at an average purchase price of $75,385 per Bitcoin.
Strategy directed the net proceeds from selling 3,458,866 MSTR shares through its at-the-market program toward preferred-stock dividends, STRC repurchases, and its U.S. dollar reserve instead of adding to its Bitcoin position.
The company has sold 6,948 BTC since May for about $432.5 million, leaving an unrealized valuation gap of around $10 billion below their aggregate acquisition cost.
