MSTR Stock Plunges Amid Bitcoin Selloff: Should Strategy Sell Some BTC?
Shares of Strategy (MSTR) have plummeted to a 28-month low as Bitcoin's price slipped below $60,000, its lowest level since October 2024. According to The Block, Strategy has an estimated $14 billion in unrealized losses on its Bitcoin holdings.
Peter Schiff, CEO and Chief Global Strategist of Euro Pacific Capital, believes that Strategy should sell a portion of its Bitcoin holdings and use the proceeds to repurchase its own shares. He argues that this would be the 'best way to create shareholder value' by reducing its share count if MSTR trades below the value implied by its Bitcoin holdings.
Schiff pointed out that Strategy's market valuation has been impacted by the prolonged selloff in Bitcoin, with the company's stock price falling more than 81% from its July 2025 high of $457.22.
