MSTR Stock Rises 40% in August as Strategy Strengthens Balance Sheet
The MicroStrategy (MSTR) stock has seen a significant surge in August, gaining 40% in just 10 trading sessions. The company's USD reserves have grown significantly, offsetting its entire debt and bringing net leverage down to just 0.1%. This sharp upside from $92 to $138 marks a 49.42% gain over the past nine days.
Despite not buying Bitcoin for over a month, Michael Saylor's Strategy sees renewed institutional confidence. Analysts remain divided on MSTR's outlook, with Cantal Capital targeting $190 after the latest breakout. In fact, Mark Palmer has set a $570 price target for MicroStrategy (MSTR) by the end of 2026, assuming Bitcoin reaches $95,000.
However, not everyone is optimistic about MSTR's future. Peter Schiff maintained his 'death spiral' thesis on Strategy (MSTR), arguing that this temporary Bitcoin rally may have only extended the company's outlook rather than changed its long-term trajectory. Meanwhile, Metaplanet's Bitcoin Strategist Dylan LeClair said that MicroStrategy has proved the critics wrong.
The recent surge in MSTR stock price highlights its strong sensitivity to BTC price movements. As Bitcoin trades slightly above $80,000, investors are increasingly watching how Strategy could perform if Bitcoin enters a sustained rally toward $150,000-$300,000.
