MSTR Stock Surges Despite $8.2B Q2 Loss Amid Bitcoin Holdings Expansion
Strategy Inc., whose stock trades under ticker MSTR, reported a second-quarter net loss of $8.22 billion. Despite this significant loss, its shares rose 4.73% to $97.74 on Thursday.
The company's bitcoin holdings reached 843,775 as of July 26, representing a 25% growth since the year began. This expansion in bitcoin holdings has been accompanied by a strong capital reserve, with Strategy raising $17.06 billion through its at-the-market programs during 2026 through July 26.
The company's dollar reserve now stands at $3.75 billion, covering more than 2.1 years of preferred dividends and interest payments. This buffer supports the company's credit structure while bitcoin remains below its average acquisition cost. Strategy has also repurchased discounted STRC shares and kept MSTR buybacks open.
