Strategy (MSTR) stock dropped by over 8% in morning trade on Friday due to its Q2 earnings miss. The company's revenue of $122.4 million fell short of analysts' expectations, while it posted a loss of $24.45 per share compared to the forecasted $2.19 loss.

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor attributed the quarterly loss to a 'meaningful bitcoin price decline' and 'muted bitcoin sentiment and market skepticism'. The company's stock fell as low as 435 from its previous target of 570, despite Benchmark maintaining a 'Buy' rating on MSTR shares.

Saylor pointed out that Bitcoin's recent weakness is due to broader macroeconomic forces rather than structural issues with the asset itself. He identified five key headwinds affecting Bitcoin, including massive capital flowing into AI infrastructure projects.
