MSTR Stocks Plummet 3% Amid Preferred Stock Buyback Announcement

Strategy Inc's (MSTR) shares dropped approximately 3% in early trading after announcing a $635.2 million preferred stock buyback program.

The allocation decision drew negative market reaction, as investors viewed it as a defensive maneuver to support STRC pricing rather than continuing the company's aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy.

STRC represents a preferred equity instrument designed to trade at a $100 benchmark, currently exchanging hands near $97.34 despite a $1 billion repurchase facility established by Strategy.

In contrast, SATA, a competing preferred instrument from Strive, maintains its $100 price point with a 13% annualized return through daily distributions, compared to STRC's 12% disbursed bi-monthly.
