MSTR Surpasses Bitcoin Rally as STRC Edges Closer to $100
Michael Saylor's Strategy has seen its common stock, MSTR, outperform Bitcoin's price rally as STRC edges closer to $100.
The company's treasury, valued at over $63 billion, is now back in profit after a two-week recovery that saw BTC briefly top $81,000. This rebound was driven by various factors, including the US Treasury's expansion of government debt buybacks, which eased pressure on yields and weakened the dollar.
Strategy has not resumed buying Bitcoin since June but its existing holdings have seen significant gains. The company holds 840,447 BTC, acquired at an average price of $75,385, which is now worth around $67 billion. This represents over $3 billion in unrealized appreciation.
The price recovery has also had a positive impact on Strategy's common stock, MSTR, which has risen by about 37% since August 18th. In comparison, Bitcoin gained roughly 22% over the same period.
